Hello everyone, we hope you've been well! It's time to share some details as to what we've been working on.

Stardust Lingers is currently around halfway complete. In the time since the jam, we have been adding new features, improving performance,  and advancing the story with new scenes, art and music. Here are a few of the changes so far.

Options Menu

As the amount of options given to players grow, the layout we had during the jam began to grow into a cluttered list. To prevent this. there are now tabs which organize them.

Along with that is a preview text box that responds to your changes in the visual options, allowing you to try them right away instead of jumping in and out of the story to see how it looks.

Translations

With the ability to change languages, translations of the game are now possible. The languages planned to be included at release are:

• English
• Spanish
• Russian
• German

If all goes well, we would love to add more after the full game is released.

Dialogue

Whenever a line finishes, there is now a little bunny animation letting you know that you can proceed!

There are now a variety of text effects which add emphasis to certain lines. One of them is shown above.

By pressing H, you can hide the text box for a better view of the background. You will be able to change the keybindings of controls in options.

Auto and skip modes will also be available. Auto will allow the text to progress by itself, while skip can be used to quickly fast-forward in case of lost progress or a desire to experience a specific part once more. These modes are under refinement to allow more customization.

Art

Without giving too much away, there are quite a few new backgrounds and sprites made for you to discover, and the amount will only grow as development continues. Special scenes have animated backgrounds, along with particles and other effects.

Conclusion

That's all the reveals for now.  To preserve a record of the original jam experience, the demo playable on this page will not be updated, but you can experience them all once release day arrives.  We hope you shall continue to follow us on the journey to deliver this story.
